The World Wrap Masters Denmark 2023 showcased some impressive wrapping talent with fierce competition from all the wrappers who competed. Simon Manley Jokumsen from Folie Fashion won and will go on to compete at the World Wrap Masters Final 2023 at FESPA Global Print Expo 2023 from 25th – 26th May.
The competition was organised by FESPA Denmark and GRAKOM and this year is the second year of the competition. Simon Manley Jokumsen was presented with his award by the President of FESPA Denmark, Niels Rask. Filip Sørensen from Profolie came in second place and Marie Terp Holt from Bw & Madsen Skilte Reklame (who was the winner of World Wrap Masters Denmark 2022) came in third place. Michael Brochmann Niesen from GRAKOM commented: “I am really happy with this year’s competition. It was very close between the first and second place winner, there was very high engagement from the competitors and a much higher number of spectators who visited compared to last year. Everyone enjoyed the location of the competition at Audi. We are very thankful to our sponsors, there was competition between the sponsors regarding the wrappers using their vinyl.”

15 wrappers competed against one another across several rounds where they were watched by many spectators, fellow wrappers and the 4 sponsors of the competition which included Antalis, Hexis, Signcom Denmark and Vikiallo. As well as having several rounds the competition also had a creative round where competitors had to wrap a platter. Points were awarded for creativity and execution, as well as for keeping to the illuminated theme, which this year was Le Mans' 100th anniversary.
4 industry experts judged the competition which included Ole Sunshine, Jesper Sølager from Sun Wrap, Marie Raun Knudsen from GRAKOM and Rikke Madsen Christiansen from Skilte og Print. Ole Sunshine commented: "It was a good competition and there was a lot of support from visitors. There were over 100 people watching the competition which I am very impressed by. Some came all the way from North Jutland to meet colleagues, which is really positive. It was very close between first and second place this year.”

Simon Manley Jokumsen finished in second place in last year’s competition so he was delighted to win the competition this year. Simon says: “I compete to win, so of course I was extremely happy to win this year. I did the best I could, every round I did well and the competition was fierce!” Simon now qualifies to compete at the World Wrap Masters Final 2023 at FESPA Global Print Expo 2023 in Munich, Germany. Simon will compete against other winners of regional and national World Wrap Masters competitions. Simon said: “This is the best part of winning, competing against other winners in the grand final!” Simon’s flight and accommodation during the World Wrap Masters Final 2023 will be organised and funded by FESPA Denmark.
