UK-based vehicle wrapping specialist Auto Wrap Manchester recently linked up with leading car manufacturer Porsche on a special project to celebrate 75 years of ‘Porsche Excellence’.
A name synonymous in the motoring world, Porsche has been involved in the manufacture of vehicles since the 1930s, though did not begin releasing cars under the ‘Porsche’ brand until the late 1940s.
The first car to roll off the Porsche construction line in Germany was the Porsche 365 in 1948, with the model having remained in production well into the 1960s.
Since this initial launch, Porsche continued to grow and established itself as a tremendous force in the industry, now employing around 39,000 staff at sites around the world.
This year marks the 75th
anniversary of the launch of the Porsche 365, with the company holding a series of special events at locations worldwide to celebrate the milestone. This included in the UK, where specialist wrapper Auto Wrap Manchester partnered up with the Porsche South Lakes branch of the manufacturer on a creative project.
Auto Wrap Manchester was tasked with transforming a Porsche Macan with special branding and colours to mark the occasion. For the project, the company chose to work with General Formulation AutoMark Vinyl, a material developed and supplied by Innotech Digital.
The wrapping specialist combined General Formulations AutoMark 830 Drift Wrap Vinyl and Optimark 242 Gloss Laminate to achieve a design that featured a whole range of historic Porsche colours such as Rubystar, Mint Green, Guards Red, Racing Yellow.
If the occasion was not special enough already, the project marked the first time that the General Formulation AutoMark Vinyl from Innotech Digital had been used in a project in the UK since its launch at the debut edition of WrapFest
earlier this year.

“From the initial concept to the final installation, we poured our passion and expertise into creating a truly exceptional design that perfectly encapsulated the Porsche brand.
“We’re incredibly excited that we could use the General Formulations 830 AutoMark vinyl from Innotech for this project. It delivered the highest levels of finished quality that we needed to showcase the vehicle in the best possible light.
“Application was made easier thanks to the product’s unique combination of perfect flexibility along with the Drift technology and low initial tack. Overall, this was a fantastic product to work with and we’ll be using it on many more projects to come.”
Kieran Dallow, marketing manager for Innotech Digital, also praised the impact of the wrap project, saying it showcased the qualities of the new vinyl and its suitability for use in a wide range of wrap jobs.
