While the market has seen plenty of examples of vehicles being wrapped in the colours and branding of sports teams and even fashion brands, it isn’t every day that fans of a convenience store join together to celebrate their favourite shopping destination!
This is exactly what happened when hundreds of thousands of social interactions from car enthusiasts and 7-Eleven fans alike led to a 2021 Ford Mustang being transformed into a mobile tribute to the popular convenience store.

A part of everyday US life since its foundation way back in 1927, 7-Eleven has grown to a network of more than 60,000 locations, expanding outside of its US to set up a number of shops further afield across Asia, Europe, South America and Oceania.
In recognition of the global success of the 7-Eleven brand, fans chose to decorate the Ford Mustang. Galpin Auto Sports, the custom car and automobile repair shop in Los Angeles, California, made famous for its appearance in the early seasons of hit MTV show ‘Pimp My Ride’, took on the challenge.
The exterior of the car was covered in the famous green, white and orange colours of the 7-Eleven brand, while a play on the store’s logo was also added to the bonnet. The colourful design also featured the text “Built for Speed and Snacks”, as well as sticker with the phrase “Need for Slurpee”, in homage to the famous ice-cold drinks sold at 7-Eleven stores.
The transformation did not stop on the exterior of the car, with the inside having also been adapted to reflect the 7-Eleven theme throughout the vehicle. Special features inside the car included a custom pizza snack holder, directly next to cup holders fit for a Big Gulp or Slurpee.
What’s more, customers were able to enter a competition to win the unique car! Those who purchased select products during a special promotional period could enter the draw, while fans could also put their name in the hat through social media.
“We know our customers have an affinity towards car culture, so building a one-of-a-kind car inspired by our most iconic products was a no brainer,” said Marissa Jarratt, executive vice president and chief marketing officer at 7-Eleven.
“We had hundreds of thousands of 7-Eleven car fanatics and customers interact with the voting of customization elements for the Model 711 – and now one lucky customer still has a chance to win these unbelievable wheels. We can’t wait to see the places they’ll go and the many #CarsOf7Eleven pics they’ll take.”
