The World Wrap Masters Spain 2024 ended with amazing displays of talent, technique, and creativity. The competition, held over 3 days, took place Alta Wrapping Academy in Calle del Sol, Madrid from 25th - 27th October, where 18 skilled global wrappers came together to showcase their wrapping expertise.

Taking first place was Vit Simek from the Czech Republic, an experienced trainer for Avery Dennison with 15 years’ experience, whose skill and dedication was evident in each challenge. Damian Cordero from Argentina secured 2nd place, demonstrating impressive precision and creativity, while Luis Carlos RamĂrez from Mexico finished in 3rd place.

The first day focused on colour change wrapping, with competitors completing  7 rounds, each lasting 50 minutes. The task involved wrapping the back door and fender of a Peugeot 308, using two materials: Avery Dennison’s Supreme Wrapping Film and MacTac’s Colour Wrap.  Day 2 was focused on paint protection film (PPF) application. Wrappers were given satin and matte PPF options and tasked with wrapping half of the cars bumper within 45 minutes.

The competition’s final day began with a creative round, where competitors wrapped gasoline canisters. The challenge allowed wrappers to showcase their precision and creativity. Following this round, the judges selected the 6 finalists, who then competed in the final, wrapping a full side of the car. This final challenge was a test of skill, persistence, and creativity.

Penelope Garrido from FESPA Espana, one of the organisers of the event, commented “I'm really happy with how the competition went. It is amazing how people were engaging with the competition, how they were able to enjoy being part of a 'community' with each other. I'm confident that the wrapping family grew during the competition, and it is wonderful.

After his victory, Vit Simek shared his excitement and insights about the competition, "The World Wrap Masters in Spain was an absolutely indescribable experience for me. The organisation of the entire event was incredible. There was a great atmosphere throughout the entire competition. I am very grateful that I could participate and be part of such a fantastic group of wrappers. I want to give a special thanks to Penelope, Carlos, and Kiss.” He went on to say "The other competitors were very skilled; each of them has their own qualities, and the acceptance of each competitor was absolutely incredible. We weren’t rivals but a wrap family that came to Spain to test our skills."

Winning the competition was a significant achievement for Vit: "I’m probably the record holder for winning second place in multiple Wrap Masters competitions, so winning gold is a significant milestone for me, and it means a lot to me. I’m very happy with this achievement. I’m really looking forward to the finals. I can’t wait to reunite with other wrappers and gain new experiences." Vit will compete against other winners of World Wrap Masters competitions at the final taking place from 8 – 9 May 2025 at FESPA Global Print Expo.

World Wrap Masters Spain 2024 was made possible thanks to the support of leading sponsors, including Avery Dennison and Mactac.
