World Wrap Masters Netherlands returned for a second year on 15th March 2023 at Gorinchem and was located at Sign & Print Expo. The competition was organised by FESPA Nederland Wouter Knol from WTR Wrap was crowned the winner and will qualify to compete at World Wrap Masters Final 2023 at FESPA Global Print Expo 2023.

12 wrappers competed across multiple rounds where they were required to use self-adhesive car wrap film in specific time frames. Creative rounds required the wrappers to wrap unique objects to demonstrate their ability and skills. The final round consisted of a technical round where wrappers were required to wrap the entire front bumper, the rear bumper and hood. Competitors only had 1 hour and 50 minutes to complete this task. The creative round provided the wrappers an opportunity to demonstrate their skills and techniques by wrapping helmets. These items had to be wrapped in 30 minutes, the competitors had to design the film themselves and were able to choose the film colours.

All competitors struggled to complete all the required wrapping with Wouter being the only competitor who succeeded. The judges assessed each wrapper’s work predominantly on the quality of the work versus the amount the competitor had wrapped.

Wouter commented:

"I was surprised at my win as my fellow competitors did really well. I have competed in many other World Wrap Masters competitions. I think the competition was well organised by FESPA Nederland, there was a lot of exposure during the exhibition and all the competitors including myself were well taken care of before and during the event. For all the competitors it was a challenge to wrap all 8 parts of the car during the technical rounds, there just is not enough time. I have always wanted to compete in the FESPA World Wrap Masters Final and now I have qualified to! I am a competitive person, and I will try my best to win the final. I know the final will be difficult as all the best wrappers will be competing against one another. I think being part of the final and meeting other wrappers from all around the world will be truly a memorable moment.”

Wouter will go on to participate in the FESPA World Wrap Masters Finals from 25^th – 26^th May 2023 at FESPA Global Print Expo 2023 at Messe Munich. As the winner of World Wrap Masters Netherlands 2023, Wouter also received a cash prize of € 750 and his costs for travel and accommodation for the Final will be paid for.
