The FESPA World Wrap Masters Europe 2024, held at FESPA Global Print Expo 2024 in Amsterdam, concluded with Martynas Bertulis of MB Wraps being crowned as the World Wrap Master of Europe 2024.
The competition provided a platform for wrappers from around the world to connect and share knowledge. The competition started with 23 wrappers competing in a series of rounds wrapping different parts of a Polestar 2 car. During the creative round competitors were tasked with wrapping manikin hands.
Bertulis expressed his delight in seeing new wrappers join the competition, emphasising the benefits of networking and learning from peers. He also shared his challenges, admitting, "Every single round is difficult in the competition, as you are competing against the world's best wrappers under a tight time frame. Personally, the most difficult round was the creative rounds as I don’t think I have a very creative mind."
Reflecting on his victory, Bertulis commented: "This year's competition was absolutely amazing, it was organised really well and generated a huge crowd, and it was fantastic to meet fellow wrappers." He highlighted the increasing skill level of competitors, saying, "Each time I enter the World Wrap Masters competitions, it is obvious that the skill level of the other wrappers is getting higher and higher."
Bertulis expressed surprise, shock, and utmost happiness with his win and voiced his desire to hopefully compete at both the World Wrap Masters Europe and World Wrap Masters Final 2025 competitions. "I would love to compete again in the World Wrap Masters Final 2025, unfortunately right now I can't guarantee that I can make it, but I definitely will do my best to be there."
Katrine Clauden of BSM Reklame stood out as the only female competitor in the event, securing third place. Clauden shared her experience, praising the competition's setup and her fellow wrappers' skills. She stated, "It is a great competition with great surroundings! I really enjoyed it! I have previously competed in the World Wrap Masters Denmark competitions a few times and in the World Wrap Masters Europe competitions. I think the other competitors were all incredibly talented! I was pleasantly surprised to have come in third place and I think it was a fantastic feat that I was the only woman in the competition and probably one of the youngest too!"
The event, sponsored by Teckwrap, Arlon, Mimaki, Orafol, Hertz, Steinel, Wrapstock, FESPA Netherlands, Newline, and The Wrap Institute who showcased the latest innovations and techniques in vinyl wrapping. Ole Solskin, one of the judges from the 2023 competition, was the MC throughout the competition and the judges included Head Judge, Kiss Lajos, and 5-time World Wrap Masters Eurasia winner, Ivan Tenchev, who also won the World Wrap Masters Final in 2018 and 2022.
Martynas Bertulis's triumph and Katrine Clauden's impressive performance show both the talent and dedication within the vinyl wrapping industry. As attention turns to the World Wrap Masters Final 2025, anticipation builds for another showcase of extreme skill and creativity.
